Building a Teepee
Anyone ever tried this? We wanna set one up to use in the woods all summer, have a fire inside and have some trips.
We've got some strong bamboo for the poles. Mostly I need to know what kind of fabric to use that would be water and fire resistant, and where to get it for cheap...Trichocereus Panza Reviewed by Trichocereus Panza on . I used to build them all the time. Mine were temporary, though. As in, for a weekend campout, so I just used blankets, lol! Try some water resistant canvas, or maybe even tarps...ugly I know, but they will work!

Oh oh oh oh, you can get some nice water resistant stuff from civil war suttlery shop... you prolly dont have any near by unless you live by a battle site but you can get em off the net! Great idea man sounds like a fun time!
Anyways http://www.fcsutler.com/fccanvas.asp You could prolly buy that and then perhaps sew them together if need be to make a teepee. I use a tent like that for when i do civil war reenacting and Its pretty nice.
EDIT that might be too expensive for you... um then you can just find some high quality tarp somewhere, if its not water proofed spray some polyurethane on it, i dunno if that would work but mabye

I did a web search a few years ago for tipis, and came across a company that makes them, and surprisingly affordable ... just go Googling ... :smokin:

We made a bigass one in boy scouts. slept like 5 people with a fire in the middle. It was awesome, but a pain to put together.
