getting ready for my first grow and clone

Thanks a bunch Zandor!!! and everyone else who posted to the FAQ section for us beginners.....OMG...the info is overwhelming and I get to learn from all of you...
I am busy building my stuff before I get my seeds (I hope I get them)...I want to have my stuff built before they get here. Everything is on track, but I have a couple things I need better understanding on...(I am following every detail from the Faq section)

    1. I am building my cloning station just like the pics Zandor shows...Do I want the watering heads spray directly on the exposed stems...or should they be indirect and keeps the humidity high? I am concerned it will wash the cloning gell off the stems....

do you keep the water running 24/7?

no one seems to be responding...Is it because I am new?

it's not cause your new, it's easter sunday remember!

i don't know what kind of cloner you use but i would assume you leave the water on all the time and with most bubble cloners and similar systems it's better not to use hormones imo. i used a bubbler and never used any kind of gel or powder. also in my cloner some of the stems would be completely submerged and it never made a difference. they would root in the same amount of time submerged or above the waterline.

Just a Seed...If I understand what you are saying...The water doesn't have to hit the steam directly...the humidity alone will start the rooting process. I am buliding a system that uses micro sprinkler heads with a pond type pump. basically it is a storage box with a lid and the pump sits in the water and the stems hang down into the box just above the water line with those sprinker heads spraying the area.

all the cloners I have seen, the water hits the stems...
but i agree with justa... if it is humid in the container.. which it will be... you will get roots...

use wilt spray if you can....

    : )

Thanks...I just want to make sure I do it right!

hope you all had a great weekend!!!!

Another question...When you top the main stem (I think it is refered to as the "cola") should you take that as an addition to my cloning stock? Seems obvious to me but I am new so I am not sure why you would'nt...

if you clone a peice of the main stem it should root faster than lower branches because it contains the most auxins.
