Yes you do. The thing you have to realize about that, is it's impossible not to be living in the moment, or living "for" the moment even. You're always just living out the reality of your life, and it's not something that you can really do "wrong." The philosopher William James said, "What is mistake but a kind of take?"

Of course, what you say about looking back and having regrets, that just describes everyone's life. Everyone is in the same psychological boat you know? We all have the same problems, with wishing we had done certain things differently, it's probably the most common feeling human beings have, besides anxiety about the present and future. But even when you're not feeling it, you can't get outside of the reality of the moment that you're living. You can't escape living the moment, so all you have to do is forgive yourself for all of the past and for all of your foolishness at thinking you weren't living in the moment, because you were.

R.D. Laing said "the self I have been searching for is the me that does the searching," or something like that. So... when I look back and think about what I missed out on, when I think about my "unlived life," I realize that my unlived life is really just the life I have been living all along--it's me sitting here right now thinking about the things I did wrong in the past. So each moment is a choice, to just drop any thoughts and any worries, just because you can anytime you want to.
