They had sure as hell give me my flying car first. They told me when I was a kid that I'd have a flying car and a robot in the year 2000

LMAO. I'm done with it now :stoned: I feel the same way. It was all about turning 21 and getting drunk, but one I did it was like WTF. I was driking beer just like I did every other weeked. I felt ripped off. Maybe the gov't need to give everyone a 6pack and a free handgun purchase permit

One thing about having kids...they make you realize that life is actually 'worth' living. It's not always easy to be a parent, but it's well worth the ride, imo. Time seems to move even faster after, it was only yesterday that I held my boy for the first time, and today, he's playing every sport available to him, teaching me things about myself, and even checking out internet porn./shrug (We worked that out, btw)
Life flies by, man. If you so much as blink, you can miss it. It all goes way too fast!
I turned 35 in Dec, but I'm only as old as I feel at heart. My looks are mature, but my heart is young.
I plan on keeping it that way,

As I was reading through all this, I began to reflect on my own life. I guess thats another thing that comes with age. Some of you older (for this board) people on here may have had these same thoughts just as you kids will too someday.
From about 25 til 30, I had issues with many birthdays. 25, wow quarter century old. 27, no longer in my "mid twenties". 29, almost thirty, kinda nervous about no longer being in my twenties. 30, big 3-0, had a bit of a hard time turning 30.
But past that, (now 32) I haven't really minded my birthdays. I have a beautiful 15 month old boy now. You really don't know the true meaning of "unconditional love" until you've been a dad. Not just a father. Any guy with a dick can be a father to a baby. But to be a dad, there's just no words.
Ben, best of luck. I hope it happens for you soon. You really sound like you have the makings of a great dad.

You young whipper-snappers
Wait until your in your thirties. Time does go by faster and faster as you grow older. The big thing that I've noticed is the lack of something to anchor the concept of time. Probabbly not the best way to put it but its hard to explain. When your younger you're often still in school and have a lot to look forward to: next semester, summer vacation, winter break, finals coming up, graduation, etc. When you're older all of that is gone. There is no more summer vacation to look forward to or final exams to dread. Nothing really to anchor the passage of time. The seasons come and go, time goes on, one day its April, the next it's October, then April again, etc. etc.
The other big thing is that, especially about the time you hit 30, you realize that your future has arrived. There's no more "some day I'll get a good job". "some day I'll have a family", "someday I'll do this" "someday I'll do that". "Some day" has arrived, you've made your bed and are now lying in it, like it or not. Me personally? I like my bed, but still....
