over fertilizing
hi friends, i have a question about over fertilizing. let's say your growing a few plants outside and you fertilize and the next day they look like crap, wilting leaves, slumping main stems, fried for sure. is it possible to dig them up, wash the roots with water and replant? do you think they might have a chance?

NO, dont dig them up, or fiddle with the root system .... just flush them with a really good watering, and allow to dry out before watering again ... hopefully, that will wash away the excess nutes. ... from now on, you may want to consider 'foliar' feeding, spraying the nutes on the leaves, top and bottom, much less likely to overfeed with the foliar method ... :smokin:

OK, there you are ... lol ... Ive always used Miracle-Gro, over many years, never a problem, BUT, I am going to start using the Earth Juice nutes ... Ive heard good things about them, and both local nurseries, and even my hardware store carries their stuff ... Im just a dumb old 'dirt farmer', and I like to keep it Simple, I've watched too many plants go south due to over-enthusiastic feeding ... this time, I will use the earth juice BLOOM, will start it a week or two before flowering stage ... Hemp Depot gave me a 16 day turnaround on my first purchase, and only 8 days from my mailbox to theirs, and back, just last week ... nice bunch of folks, too ... I dont have much money to spend, on disability, so I tried their 'Joey Weed' seeds, couldnt be happier, 100% germination in 24-40 hours, wet paper-towel in a baggie on a warm surface ... looks like all will be females, as usual ... Im growing out their Cinderella99/Northern Lights cross, after 33 days, they are doing bitchin' ... I almost killed every last one of them with 'damp-off', but now all is well ... good luck ! :smokin:

thanks for flowers man,I wish i could grow outside straight in the dirt and use
mother nature to my advantage, but i can't so i have to go underground in my closet.I'l be useing a 10gal ebb hydro system with a 400w hps ( the one that's got about 17% blue in it ) and use it all the way threw veg/blooming stages just one bulb for everthing what do you think Reaper.

the sodium reds are the cat's ass for flowering, you'll do well with that ... I have seen several posts in here that use only sodiums, from seed to harvest, and claim very good results ... I think you'll be fine ... sounds like you know what youre doing, keep up the good work ... :smokin:

Florida...
I would recommend this to you if you are growing outside...
Always water your plant about 12-60 inches away from the main stalk..
The reason for this......
1. If you over fertilize, you have not contaminated the area that the PLANT must live in.
2. Outdoor growers that want to GROW monsters are always tempting t he roots to come further and further out to get nutrients and water.. Encouraging the roots to spread like theoretically causes the ENTIRE plant to GROW and GROW..
i believe it

Another thought for you...
You are much less likely to burn your plant/over fertilize them when you use organic fertilizers...
