Will This setup work?

Hey everyone,
This is my first grow. I just want to grow a handful of plants indoors and i'm not ready to spend alot on a HID or HPS setup. I have about 7 little sprouts. I bought a 2-40 watt, 1600 lumens, 2700K four foot flourescent bulbs. I have the bulbs a few inches from the sprouts. Will this setup work for my whole harvest? Could i do better with a compact flourescent setup?

Hi Cafka,

I saw nobody replied to your post so I thought I would add my two cents. Because this is your first grow and you would like something to smoke that you control I understand. But the result you will get from four weeks of growth under 24 hours of light then ten weeks of flowering 12 of light and 12 hours of darkness under 1600 lumens would be disappointing. You may harvest a half ounce if your lucky with your seven plants. You will have to try it to find out personally. Don't say you didn't know because I'm telling you the facts today.

My best advise if you want something to smoke in three months is either get you a used 400 or 1000 watter from ebay or grow with what you have for two weeks then tranplant to a secure site outdoors where there is no traffic and you can access without being notice.

There you have it. Maybe not what you wanted to know but sometime the truth is better than ignorance.

yeah...listen to this guy...i dont know from experience but my research tells me that grow would be barely worth it

yes you would harvest more buds if you bought a cfl such as an envirolite 40 60 bucks and readly aviable on line thats what i use in combination with tubes you wont get as many buds as with hps but its good for personal use if you have 7 female plants you will need at least 2 cflshope this helps

Just grow one or two verified females and get a 100 watt HPS from home depot for $70 if you can't put much money into it. The 100 watt outdoor HPS lights can be cannibalized for the socket and ballast.
