    Greetings from America's Capital City.

What's up everyone, from Washington D.C., USA. Not entirely new to the boards, I did the want ads awhile back, never got a decent in person hookup. Did the MOM thing for awhile but got scketched out and stopped.

I am 20-something law school student in Washington D.C. trying to fix the system from the inside out. If anyone needs any informal legal advice, drop me a line.

The best way to legalize mary jane in America is going to be through jury nullification: i.e. - since a jury's decision in any case is final and valid if it is a "not guilty" verdict, we need to educate people on jury nullification. It is the act of the jury finding "not guilty" regardless of the evidence presented and the controllng laws. It is when a jury, having no desire to enforce outdated laws, refuses to enforce them by finding the accused "not guilty".

It was used for interracial marriage laws, sodomy laws, and hopefully marijuana possession in the future. Get the word out, since it will only help if people on juries are aware of their right to find "not guilty" in the face of technically sound evidence.

thank you for your informed contributions ... it has always been irritating to me that courts do not instruct the jurors that they may make a 'not guilty' finding, if they think it is 'bad law' ... welcome aboard ... :smokin:

    Greetings from America's Capital City.

Well, in truth, I'm in Reston. Close enough.

To what law school have you matriculated, Deuces? GW? G-town?

Though I have long spoken in favor of the return of common sense and individual liberty to the nation's laws vis-a-vis cannabis and hemp, recently I have felt myself tugged more forcefully in the direction of true activism, id est, utilizing the arguments that I have put forth in thought and word and converting them to actual deed. I live on the doorstep of Politics Central and I believe that a well-reasoned argument, consistently and didactically administered, sticking resolutely to the truth, is the best weapon that we could possibly have.

Deuces, when you get a break from your study schedule, gimme an e-mail ([email protected]) and let's see about pooling forces -- or at the very least, perhaps you can give me some advice about how to implement some of these ideas. I believe, as it appears you do too, that if we want to beat the system, we must first be in the system, not shouting at it from the outside.
