    Question about bulbs

Bad idea unfortunately. Watts=amps x voltage

They rate the fixture for watts because thats what the bulb rating is (something we can understand when selecting a bulb). Really it's stating that the wiring and fixture can handle "x" amount of amps. Never overload a fixture beyond it's rating...asking for BIG trouble.

    Good luck!

    Question about bulbs

as Psycho said, it's not safe to exceed the limits set by the manufacturer ... overload will cause fires ... a cheap fixture to hold a large CFL will only set you back a very few dollars ... wallyworld, my man ... :smokin:

    Question about bulbs

if you wann go cheapo go to a thrifts store and buy a florescent light.

    any kind will work
    shop lights,
or those circular bulbs used as a reading light. (the kind with a magnifying glass are cool for begginers!
you can adjust the light to the plant and really watch it grow.

or you could spend a few bucks and go with COMPACT FLORECENTS!

but you'll soon want a HID light. good luck
