    U.S.-Born Latinos Oppose Illegal Immigration

I agree, they should all go back and apply for citizenship just like the people of old did..What makes these illegals so special that our laws dont apply to them...I know they are poor and oppressed, but whos fault is that, there own government fault

PHOENIX -- Contrary to scenes of hundreds of thousands of united Latinos marching across the country in support of immigration reform, a sizable number of the ethnic group opposes the marches and strongly objects to illegal immigration.

Their voices have largely been muffled by the massive protests, however, which continued Monday as thousands of demonstrators took to the streets of cities nationwide.

Those protesting are voicing their support of a Senate bill that would give an estimated 11 million illegal immigrants living in the country a chance for U.S. citizenship

1st. very hard to generalize like that [native born oppose illegal immigration].

nothing makes them special but understand this. anyone who's grandparents or greatgrandparents came here in the
"Only about 2 percent were denied admission to the U.S. and sent back to their countries of origin for reasons such as chronic disease, criminal background, or insanity" -Wikipedia on Ellis Island

so it's not like these laws were always in place, when we were accepting Europeans, the process was much quicker and we took them ALL. Now it takes 10+ years. this does not mean that they should be doing what they're doing, but things are much stricter now and to compare it to the older days is ridiculous, if the laws were the same as the older days no1 would be doing it illegally.

I asked yesterday why didn't they protest in the country they claimed oppressed them..so if they were legal in their country...why didn't they protest there? In Mexico?

    Here's a better question..

If the Mexican government is so corrupt, why do we have our troops in Iraq? Why not just overthrow the Mexico's government instead?

I don't know if they are corrupt or not..I was referring to why the illegals I speak with say they left their country (Mexico for the most part)...most said oppression..well they said other words I won't say..but oppression sums most of it up...I wasn't talking about our Government in that post either..I was talking about them marching in their native country. The illegals....oh..and thats a good question. Have to think on that one..haha.

seems like you don't know shit about anything. i don't mean it to be offensive but when you combat arguements (not necessarily on this thread) you fuel the fire. just spitting out stuff without knowing backgrounds and relevant information which is not helping your statements credibility. i don't claim to know everything, but if i have an opinion on it, i have researched (not only watch the tele) and therefore have concluded some things, i would suggest you do the same.
