Their voices have largely been muffled by the massive protests, however, which continued Monday as thousands of demonstrators took to the streets of cities nationwide.

Those protesting are voicing their support of a Senate bill that would give an estimated 11 million illegal immigrants living in the country a chance for U.S. citizenship

so it's not like these laws were always in place, when we were accepting Europeans, the process was much quicker and we took them ALL. Now it takes 10+ years. this does not mean that they should be doing what they're doing, but things are much stricter now and to compare it to the older days is ridiculous, if the laws were the same as the older days no1 would be doing it illegally.

I asked yesterday why didn't they protest in the country they claimed oppressed them..so if they were legal in their country...why didn't they protest there? In Mexico?

I don't know if they are corrupt or not..I was referring to why the illegals I speak with say they left their country (Mexico for the most part)...most said oppression..well they said other words I won't say..but oppression sums most of it up...I wasn't talking about our Government in that post either..I was talking about them marching in their native country. seems like you don't know shit about anything. i don't mean it to be offensive but when you combat arguements (not necessarily on this thread) you fuel the fire. just spitting out stuff without knowing backgrounds and relevant information which is not helping your statements credibility. i don't claim to know everything, but if i have an opinion on it, i have researched (not only watch the tele) and therefore have concluded some things, i would suggest you do the same.
