Hps are alot cheaper to run that that. a 400w HPS on 18/6 for three months would cost £35-40, would you call that alot, I don't. I have a very similar size grow space to you and the only real heat problem is the heat underneath the light, it literally burns the ground so you have to watch out. If I was you I would make a hole in the top of your closet so you can install a inline extraction fan connected to a carbon scrubber. They are expensive. But you can pick up the fan, the scrubber and ducting for less than £200, and that will sort your heat problems, your ventilation problems, and your odor problems all in one and no maintenance. So personally I would find the money and do that. If if your strapped for cash then there's not much you can do to tackle a 400w HPS except not use it.

thanks very muhc for the pound info on 12/12 light cycle hps i was wondering about cost and that sound okish lol im sorta unemployed despratly seeking work i can get a full extractor fan like this one...well this IS it exact same one= http://www.growell.co.uk/p/0231/GroW...tion_Kits.html
if i cut a round hole in roof of closet then hung the fan tube throu the hole and store the actual fan in the loft would that do for the heat?

also do u all use extension leads ofr your growrooms? as mine has no in built wall socket im having to use an extension lead its making me paraniod if i plug a 6socket extension lead into the wall then run the 400w hps 3x24w cfls and extracor fan woud it blow?

no prob, I failed to mention, I get a 'break' on my PG&E electric, because Im POOR ... lol, but it doesnt amount to much of a discount, $5-$6 month or so ... either way, electric bill is far outweighed by price of bud, and satisfaction of smoking your own effort ... :smokin:
