WARNING about crossing the border into CANADA

Friendowl..........Does this trail still exsist today? I am wanting to go to canada w/a baby in tow, but I am an ex-con and they frown on letting us in

I have great friends in canada to live w. I just need to get to them. How long of a hike is it to get into canada? I do 10 mile hikes regularly here in the mtns of SE AK, so I am game and so ready to get out of here.

    TY in advance

Check out my post above. Yes, the PCT trail still exists. It is one of the best known backpacking trails in the country. I haven't been on the trail right where it crosses into Canada but have been on the trail near the border and it is very rugged area. Lots of snow and rain year round. I would imagine that going from the U.S. into Canada via this route would be at least a 2-3 day undertaking. Definitely not what you'd want to do with a baby in tow.

Here are pics of the PCT in Washington

WARNING about crossing the border into CANADA

You don't know or my babies...lol...no offence.

I have traveled small ones, literally coast to coast and up a little....lol

I went so faras to take one on a ferry for 3 days to get where I am now, so walking w/1 in a ruck sack will be no problem w/3 days rations. Heck I can take the dogs for a walk. I have already looked it up on the web and have a map I am referencing now on teh trail.

I am also looking hard at detroit to just go across. I don't know if I want to save the strain that much, but I will wrap it in tomatoe plants and try to ship them south to a friend in Wa to keep it alive and well. The ferry system here is a joke when it comes to anything....lol

WARNING about crossing the border into CANADA

No offense taken. Actually, I re-read your post after posting mine and saw that you do have a lot of experience hiking in Alaska.

I think the hardest thing would be timing of the weather. When I was there it rained for the first ten days straight without ever stopping. Out of a 30 day trip we had 11 days without rain and two of those we were socked in with the thickest fog I've ever seen. Absolutely incredible country when the weather is good though.

Travelling with little ones is always fun. I've got one myself. Actually, I think a 3 day hike would be a lot better than my last big trip with my daughter. 13 hrs on a plane with 1 1/2 year old.

    Good luck and have fun.

went to montreal for a night when i was 19 with 2 people, and on the way back 1 of them had a tiny bit of weed,we're talkin maybe 2 hits but he lied about ditching it,and the motherfucker said i knew all about it instead of just burning himself
they seized my car for auction, gave me a ticket, after 2 hours of telling me iwas goin up for international drug trafficking just to fuck with me.and made me and the other dude walk back into town in FEB at the CanAM border
Dambass with the speck of weed got a ride into town to courthouse where he was ROR
For ten yrs after i couldnt get in at all,its a hit and miss thing to this day
Moral:leave the cheap ass at home, and the smoke(unfortunately),Can. hash kicks ass anyhow
