WARNING about crossing the border into CANADA

    Here is why........

I went for a drive to canadain border for my first time ever last year and that was probably my worst experience all year.

First, The stool pigeon at the little border booth questioned me like I was some kind of terrorist trying to get into canada

Second, while I was inside talking to the customs agent they decided to just search my car without me even asking me. I went outside after they refused to let me in "on the grounds of I was unemployed" I had just gotten out of the military and I didn't have a job. The fact I had over $40,000 in the bank didn't make any difference.

Third, when I got home a few days later I relized my "citizen" watch (worth about $300) was gone from my trunk.

Well there you have it....you can bet I want be trying to drive across the border anytime soo.
yeah, you were problay alone... and that's most likely why they gave you a hard time... All you need to do is go with people, and have a hotel reservation in canada, as soon as they check it and find out that you do they will let you through, just don't have like print outs of directions to seed banks or any dumb shit, because they will take it, and find out whos computer it came from(well actually what the serial number of the printer it came off of was)

I live right across from america,, they never search us or anything, i mean if they did search people for no reason the whole border would be backed up for years lol. ( detroit and windsor are verry heavy trade points for US/America)

WARNING about crossing the border into CANADA

PCT Trail is the "Pacific Crest Trail". It's a long backpacking trail that goes from Mexico to Canada. Pretty rugged up there in the North Cascades.

Which reminds me of the time I got hassled going into Canada. I had been backpacking/mountaineering in the North Cascades for an entire month. I thought it might be fun to go into Vancouver for dinner and decided to drive on up. Having lived out of a tent for the last 30 days I was pretty grubby, plus I had long hair and drove a car covered in Grateful Dead stickers. As I sat waiting to go through the check point I watched as one car after another was passed though with a wave and a smile. When they got to me it was "Please pull over there and report to customs" So I go in and get the third degree. Then they come out and search my car. First they went digging through my backpack with a fine tooth comb. That was pretty funny actually, since it had all the funky, rank smelling clothes that I had been wearing for a month and hadn't yet washed. The look on the guy's face was priceless. Finding nothing there they dug through the rest of the car until the guy says "how many fireworks are you bringing in?" I'm like "what? None?" So he holds up one tiny firecracker and says "then whats this? Smuggling fireworks is a crime. We could arrest you, confiscate your automobile, blah blah blah..." I was totally tripping out by this point and explained that I had left for my trip just after July 4th and that one must have just rolled under the seat and been forgotten. He continued to give me bunch of crap but finally let me go.

Coming back in to the U.S. was just as bad.
