Do you think about your breathing regularly?? Like i said its something that takes practice and the breathing is a VERY important part. While learning the art you of course have to concentrate on it but after enough practice it will take less and less concentration and then finally become second nature to you. While learning it isnt self defeating as long as you are focused on the meditation. You will learn to achieve a balance. It seems confusing and while starting it can be frustrating but stay focused and you will be rewarded
