100W light bulb?

New grower here can I use a 100W light reg. white bulb to grow? My cousin said it would would it? Also can i start a fire?

i guess you could use a 100 watt light bulb i have never tryed, it might work to start a seedling but i'm sure that you will probably need alot more light to bring the plant to maturity and YES you can start a fire a light bulb even a 40 watt bulb could cause a fire use caution with your lights floros run cooler than reg light bulbs there not great for growing but better and alot safer

No...you are better off with CFL or some 48" cool white tubes they work great for seedlings and clones.
