Should I stay quite and let your learn or would you like an opinion on the future problems you may have? I could be wrong you are only in the first phase but......?
You're not going to finish with that foam plug like that are you?
How are you monitoring the temperature at the top of your canopy?
Nice closet too turtle it showes a lot of work on your part.

Vegetative... I'm thinking of giving them 4 weeks... anywhere from 3 to 4 weeks... but the real decision maker on that aspect will be how they're growing. If at 4 weeks, the SCRoG screen is still half empty, I'll keep them at veg. I don't know... let's see how it goes!
WW = White Widow ... they're from WeedFarmer.com... I was VERY pleased with them... I recommend them to everyone.
Great approach Zandor... although "experience is the best teacher", I'll take your advice any time you put it out

Why? Will the plug "choke" the plant? Or will the plant "rape" the plug?
I realize the plant has no net-cup, or "medium", but I thought that once the plant gets to the SCRoG screen, and I start "weaving"/training it into the screen, it'll support its own weight...
Thoughts on this? Or am I headed down Newbie Avenue? (full speed ahead?
 )
.....CANOPY TEMPERATURE MONITORING......
Right now, I've got my thermometers' (digital) external probe hanging mid-air inside the cabinet. When I install the metal screen for the SCRoG, I'd like to place the thermometer somewhere that'll give good readings... some testing to be done.

Buk, Zandor,
Thanks for the closet cabinet props...
It feels great to have people commend you on something   (<-- love this guy)
<><><>
SIDE-NOTE::: UPGRADES::::
1- bigger hoses for the mix return (at the bottom of the buckets)
2- two air pumps, and four air stones total
3- cover the water lines with aluminum foil... don't want no "stuff" growing there...
4- better fan for the cool tube (using a 50CFM fart fan right now... pushing air...
Z)
5- carbon air scrubber (I still haven't forgotten the other thread Z)
6- 1" screen attachment
That's it for now.
I'm very pleased to be posting here... as now, I'm Netless for the time being, and I miss the boards quite some... but it's good when you log in, and there's SHITLOADS of new stuff to read...
Thanks for everything guys (and girls), much peace and good chronic,

Learning is half the fun anyway.
Yes they will choke the stock and reduce the nutrient uptake at some point (soon)
Sure roots hanging will grow, but...........think about it for a second and it will come to you. Would the lack of a strong root base and support for the top of the plant reduce the over all size of the finished plant?
Why?

Let's see...
"Lack of a strong root base" will definitely hinder the plants' ability to be all it can be.

If the root ball "base" isn't stress-free, it won't be able to have 100% nutrient "flow".
^^^

I can see roots danglin' and moving back-and-forth, but, maybe the root ball "base" needs to be "solid"???
Hahaha! LOL!
Thanks for this Z... I'm cracking for answers over here...
I'll try to re-log in ASAP... but as it is, I'm getting about 30 minutes of internet a day... and I can tell you, 28 of those minutes are spent on boards.cannabis.com .... the other 2 minutes?
Booting up... hehehe...
Best Regards Z,

PS: Side-note... I can still place the plants on some netpots... with some lava rocks...
PSS: The home-made "foam plugs" are made out of "Garden Kneeling Pad" material... straight from Home Depot

If you can and it's not to late you may want to use that net pot and grow rocks.

Then I've got this ghetto 4" or 5" net pots, which I """fabricated""" from regular pots... I cut out the sides, and "net". Ugly looking contraptions. Never had to use them. But for giving scares to the crows...
I'll install them... tomorrow... I hope.
>>>>>>>>>
UPDATE: I installed the screen... 1" holes, per JustAseed's suggestions, and pictures...
The biggest plant hasn't been "trained" into the screen yet... not tall enough. The smaller plant... well, that one turned out REALLY like her mother... her mom was a "two headed" 'rose' from the beginning... and so is she... but even more so! She has 4 heads!!!
I thought her abnormal 4 heads where because of FIMing it... but I didn't have recollection of doing that to her... but now that it's grown, I can see that it's... TWO PAIRS OF SECONDARY GROWTHS!!! HAaha! that's it!
///....
I'm set to change the hydro mix tomorrow... when I get back my RO filter... the mix right now, has been in there for... um... 8 days today.
(FROM THE TOP OF MY MIND):::
5.9pH
1971 uS
930ppm
Something like that.
I added a little (like 1/4 strength) Dark Energy. On the bottle it states: It stinks, but it Rocks!
Got that right.
GOD ALL MIGHTY!!!
This is more stenchfull than... than... ufff! Horrendous!
But apparently, it rocks. Yes it does.
.......<><>......
I also added the second air pump... now we've got one air pump per 5 gallon bucket. Two air stones inside each bucket.
Makes for some nice bubbles-inside-buckets vibration....

............
In the next hydro mix, I'm going all crazy... small amounts, but...
RO water...
CalMag PLUS
GH 3-parts
Dark Energy (!!!)
Floralicious Plus
SuperTHRIVE (of course)
..... And, I think that's the hole plethora of stuff.... stuff...
 hmmm... stuff.
We've got some FulMag over there.... says it's for magnesium deficiencies problems... Wa?! I ain't got no problems!
<><>
That's it. [/RANT] Finish. Enjoy. Please comment, if you feel like it.
Best,

Plants so far:::
They seem to be growing super fast.
I changed the nutrient mix yesterday, and filled-up the buckets with RO water… ahhh… nice, pure water. Each 5 gallon bucket takes about 40 minutes to fill-up::: no kidding.
I added the GH 3-part nutrients, for week 2, vegetative stage.
+ CalMag PLUS
+ GH Floralicious Plus
+ Dark Energy
…. After a couple of hours, the pH was over at about 6.20 or something… so I added some pH DOWN… got to around 5.80
Plants are growing super fine. The little one, has the 4 grow shoots coming up full-steam ahead. Very interesting! Now I see why everybody claims that hydro grows are “astonishingly fast!”.
The big plant is fine… on her top, she has the main top, and two secondary growths that are coming strong. I’m planning on sending that top over to the far-side of the cabinet, and trying to fill up the screen towards the middle with the other secondary growths of the plant.
I need to make the carbon air scrubber work ASAP. Damn it…
Mother plant is doing good… shitloads of secondary grows… so tempting to make more clones… soooo… tempting… Anyways, the two soil clones are also doing super good. I didn’t water “on time” one of them, and it completely dropped it’s leaves… temperamental plants!
I watered thoroughly, both of the clones. After 1 hour, it hadn’t perked-up its leaves, so I removed it from the mother cabinet and pleaced her under a desktop fluorescent lamp… until the next morning. She woke up better, and has been re-installed in the mother cabinet since.
<><><>
I’m sorry that I’m ranting so much, but right now I’m writing off the net… so I’ll get to my internet connection, log-in, copy/paste for posting this, and out… I miss this place.
<><><>
In other news, I’m super eager to start flowering of these plants! And I’m also super eager to see how my 1st SCRoG does! I really hope I can get something *similar* to JustAseed’s SCRoGs. I’m planning on weaving the plants like there’s no tomorrow. WeeeavvveEEE!!! Or… TrrraaaAIIINNN!!!
My bud supply has run dangerously low… I’m on the verge of… of running out of weed! Darn it… I’m sure this ain’t going to happen once I’ve got my 1st harvest down. That’s going to kick-ass!
<><><>
Ok, I stop writing now. I realize this post is waaaay too long.
Best to all of you, and I promise pictures next time around,
