This is the way i think of it : If your new at this and have to have a fancy $$ set up then you will spend the next year getting use to it and really geting a good yeald, so its not gonna pay for its self for a while... going dirt cheap like home made things , rigging things up that is already around you is so much cheaper and your first grow even if it bombs cause your new ...it doesnt matter you didnt spend $ not losing anything.... if you get a buzz off your grow your ahead...lol plus its a hobby now not a debt or a bill you will be working toward.....put it this way , what has already been made can be made by YOU.... da...just think ...some one like YOU did it ...WHY cant you ? sorry for the pep talk ...lol...just trying to make a point...peace

One more way i have cloned is by using cling wrap ,wrap it around where you was gonna cut it off at . Put a rubber band at bottom of it so it is tied around the stem holding the cling wrap around the stem, sorta like a funnel with the stem in the middle of it ... slit the sides if the stem, just a little, cram anything in there around the stem and in the cling wrap that will hold mosture: perelite, dirt, cotton, cheese cloth, sponge, the filter material from a fish tank filter...any way cram somthing in there....make damp...wrap the top of the cling wrap that is holding what ever around the stem and tie a rubber band around it also...now in like a week or 2 you will see roots .take sizzors....sorry im not to smart ...lol..just creative.. and cut above bottom rubberband and between root ball....sit it in new pot cut other rubberband unwrap and WoooHooo off to the races.....and the roots never got disterbed....I call it ...THE NO WILT METHOD....lol any other method the plant WILL wilt some to a lot if not sprayed with no wilt ....peace

Getting off the island requires a boat or airplane. There's no bridge. So "going to town" is a pilgrimage we do once or twice a year. It takes a full day by ferry to even get to the closest town, and then it's 3 days before there's a ferry home. Sometimes I appear ignorant of simple technologies that the rest of you take for granted, and sometimes I'll write about really bizarre home made solutions to problems that you folks just throw money at. This is why. And it's why after 35 years of indoor/outdoor growing, the rockwool is a new concept for me. Alas, I'll probably never find any to play with. But thanks for the info on where to find it!

I have kinda the same problem, I live in the caribbean.
We do not have growshops and stuff like that.
Sometimes I wish I could get all the stuff I see on the net, but that is just wishfull trhinking for me
Nobody here knows what rockwoll is, when I was telling someone abot the properties of it, they recommended me Oases cubes.
That stuff is aviable because florists use it.
But it sucks, almost no hydro store delivers outside the US.
I wish the postmandave and Mobay could help a nigga out.
I am in desperate need of some supplies.
I had ordered a 400w MH lamp a few years ago.
It cost $175 but they did not deliver outside the US so I had to hire a courier service.
At the end the whole thing cost me about $450 for a lamp that cost $175
If I could find a company that delivers direct would be perfect, so I don't pay 2X the shipping
    But whatever....
