I took a cutting off a female that was heavy into flower. One of the lower flowers that really wasn't getting that much light anyway. Dipped it in some rooting powder, jammed it in some regular ol' soil just like I was using for the mature plants and it grew like a weed. Had a good root ball on it when I hacked it down. So cloning in soil does work. Old wives tale that it doesn't. Yes, it may not be the best, but it does work.
