    Haphazardly breeding different strains

So if you just grow various strains and let them have sex freely, will the offspring consistently be weaker weed, or just different types of weed that's as good as the parents, or a mix of good weed and weak weed?

a long read thru mendel will answer that but what you brought up is what scares serious growers the most in the big picture...weakening the gene pool through amatuer and irresponsible "breeders". anyone can make seeds...and many get passed around willy-nilly and i know i've seen strains ruined over the years and i'm sure there are others around here too who remember what the nl#5 of old was like vs todays and lately the c99's i've sampled grown by others too has lost its punch...and this is from different growers using different batches and both are serious and very experienced. hell, it's even hard to find northern lights nowadays that has that sweet perfumy flavor it had a decade ago...anybody else on this?

Don't haphazardly breed, bad idea. Breeding should be done by artificial selection as opposed to natural selection. The direction they go in their evolution naturally is typically not the direction we want for our use. This would also be a reason not to use bagseed!

In history/nature nomatter what things are gonna breed ,the better chosen breeders were the stronger males to carry on . Sure a goodlooking female would seem to be the ticket, but will she have bigger, stronger siblings? Even any female would chose a taller, bigger, stronger male to mate with if she could, right? :smokin:
