I don't see like any snails around here(Tennessee) but there are a lot of deer and rodents. I'll probably start them in pots, but just in case I can't they still have a pretty good chance of survival if I plant them in the ground and visit them almost every day right?

Should I buy some soil or just use what was there? I got all the rocks and roots out of there and I'll probably put 3 or 4 seeds in each hole.
