This is soley related to Bush and his administration, how isn't it? ALLEGEDLY he leaked pre-war classified documents to the press for his own political gain and his party's gain. Regardless of where you stand on the political ladder, it's important that people recognize that he allegedly leaked these documents merely for political gain.

And to think that a president would do that... well, isn't that somewhat close to treason?

Of course presidents do things all the time that people don't like. BUT when these things cause a downward spiral in a war that we shouldn't even be in with Iraq, when the president constantly lies and changes his positions on key issues, especially about Iraq (WMDs anyone?).. Osama? When his approval rating is in the 30's, and when you have scandals going on left and right... and now THIS? You really think that these are just little issues that should just be shrugged off and forgotten? Granted, that's what most people do... but I'm just trying to get information out there about what's going on in our government.

Just because these are our leaders, doesn't mean we have to support them or stand by them. Aren't we supposed to question our government, to keep them in check? Nothing pisses me off more than people who claim I'm 'un-American' or that i'm a 'traitor' because I disagree with this government and I have bad things to say about it.

I like this quote from Roosevelt.. "To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public. Nothing but the truth should be spoken about him or any one else. But it is even more important to tell the truth, pleasant or unpleasant, about him than about any one else."
