That does sound good. Anyone have any recipes for a marindade or dry rub for chicken that they like? We're having grilled chicken quarters tonight and I'm looking for a new flavor to add to it. I've done all the regular (italian, bbq, jamacian jerk etc..). I'm just looking for something new. I'm starting to feel like I've maxed out on just grilling with marinades and rubs. I really want to get into sauces. I know how to make a rue and a demi glace so that's a start. There are some good books out there I want to pick up, but a lot of the stuff I need to do in advance and freeze till time to use (like brothes and such).

you can do what us ghetto folks do and it tastes good.

cut up some oranges and lemons and cilantro and onionsand a lil mustard
get a lil bottle of kikoman terriyaki sauce and let sit for a couple of hours.
when you grill em they taste real good.

That's not ghetto. They sounds like a really good marinade  . When I think ghetto, I think hamburger helper and shake and bake (I've had both this last week )
All I know is that I grew up on cheap food and I still prefer some of it over most of the shit you see on tv (I'm sorry I don't like capers and shit like that). Sometimes you can't beat and easy meatloaf made from stale bread and cheap hamburder meat.

I'm just trying to cut some weight for this summer and grilling and baking has allways been and easy way for me to do it. It's also much easier to plan meals for (which helps us keep form having to eat out). Get enough meat for everyone to eat and keep a stock of veggies that you can dress up. That's why I'm wanting to get into sauces. I can turn a pork chop into a plate of tasty in to time.
