weird Northern Lights X Big Bud flowering behavior
Ok, so there was a thread in which I was discussing this with someone earlier, but I was only in initial stages with this strain at that point. But anyway, someone else was noticing that their Northern Lights tended to flower regardless of the photoperiod. I've noticed that one Northern Lights X Big Bud clone is conitnually flowering as it spits out new leaves. At this point it's not a ton of flowers yet, they're all over, but they're definitely there and definitely female.
Anyone else observed this? This one definitely needs to be cloned like crazy and maybe even bread eventually.mountainman Reviewed by mountainman on . weird Northern Lights X Big Bud flowering behavior Ok, so there was a thread in which I was discussing this with someone earlier, but I was only in initial stages with this strain at that point. Hello,
Is it possible to get a few pictures?
To me it sounds like she is just sexually mature and is throwing out an overabundance of pre-flowers.
Though there is a slim chance that it is auto-flowering in which case there really is no way, short of constant colder temps, to keep her from doing what nature has designed her to do.
Interesting non the less.

Unfortunately my digicam isn't great for closeups. Is it a good thing if she's throwing out an overabundance of preflowers?

Hello,
This is certainly not a bad indication, no.
Only that she is telling you that she is ready to flower. You will not see the usual "wait" that most see with their plants as long as you wait for them to show pre-flowers.
Let her roll, she wants to show ya what she can do!

Great, I'll know that she's ready then
All the plants are still fairly small, but they could handle flowering and they're taking off like crazy with all the earth juice catalyst I gave them. Definitely going to keep using high doses of that.
But, I need to wait a little while. My white widow came up deformed so I've had to reseed that. It should be to a point where I'm willing to flower it fairly quickly.

Nice,
What was wrong with the WW? Deformed leaves? Runts?
Take care

The cotyledons didn't open properly and really messed up the true leaves. It was growing leaves on one side while the other didn't have any. It wasn't very far past popping after about 2 weeks! I decided I didn't want to deal with that crap, so I killed it. The roots weren't even close to the size they should've been for that age.
You can see the thread about it here: http://boards.cannabis.com/showthread.php?t=58193
Do you have any experience with Earth Juice Catalyst? (basically Liquid Karma) It's made from seaweed and oats. I found that upping the concentration really caused a huge surge of growth in my plants. What sorta limit should I follow? I'm still using less than the label recommendations which was 15 mL / gallon.

Yes you can. I've used it on some of my houseplants too with great success.

Moutainman, Hi.
I have had a phototron for over 20 years. Go to dot com and check them out , don't buy just look. The system promises you all kind of bud but the flouro's just will not do it. However they are very good for cloning and mother plants. I can keep some for 2 years. In the tron I have a high rate of females and just about everything pre flowers so I can clone females easy. I don't know why this is but it is. I will show pic's of papaya mother if you want and I had northernlights do it too. Even bag seeds. They veg and I take clones then they look like they are going to die, then they come back and keep preflowering. It is not a problem they grow just fine like was said they just love you and want you to know they are female.
