I cut them and trim while they are fresh. It is much easier. Save your trimmings they make great joints.

Ive heard just cut the trunk. Please advice as to the best all around way to cut these critters down. also , how long should i let it hang dry before i cut the leaves. few hours or a day or 2? any input would be great as I would like to harvest in a few hours..
