Hey itâ??s great that youâ??re coming over. The drug testing laws in this country are quite different to that of the States. If you apply for work an employer can request a drug test but they can not discriminate against you and decline your application if it comes up positive, especially for weed. Also the testing process is expensive so most employers don't test on this basis, but wait until problems start to show in your working abilities. However, if you get arrested for a 'Trigger' offence ie: theft, robbery, burglary, shoplifting, possession of a class A so on so forth then the police have the right to take away any human rights you thought you had! They don't want to do it but the powers that be dictate that if someone is arrested for a trigger offence and refuses to take the test (oral swab only) then they have committed a further offence even if they havenâ??t been charged or found guilty of the offence they were arrested for! But if this happens and youâ??re only using hash, weed, cannabis then you'll be fine as the test is for Heroin & Crack/Cocaine.
