Music for the Middle Aged Rebels Here
The Politics forum is the best one on this site. Where else can you get an assembly of various opinionated male stoners, from early middle age Gen X's to boomers to guys well over 50, and a few in-between, that seem to have one thing in common - all are still crazy and getting in trouble, lol.
I have a recommendation for some of you crazy bastards - get the early Merle Haggard and the Strangers albums, recently reissued on CD on the Capital label, light up, pour a hit of your favorite beverage, and crank ā??em up. They come as "twofers", with bonus tracks. I mostly like to play them through a mono radio with an auxilliary input, with a portable DVD player plugged in.
My favorite CD is Branded Man/Iā??m a Lonesome Fugitive. This one has four bonus tracks, as well
The musicianship, especially the guitar picking by James Burton, Glen Campbell, and Roy Nichols, is fantastic.
Iā??ve been a Hag fan for 35 years, and have been lucky enough to catch him live a few times. Heā??s also a big proponent of Hemp, and not a stranger to itā??s cousin - despite his hit Okie from Muskogee's theme.

Well, I said that I've been a fan of Hag for over 35 years. Let's just say that I was a teenager when I first heard, and went to a concert by, him.

Anyway, the show was phenominal, and (a very young) Tanya Tucker did some numbers with him on stage.
