Question
Lately I've been getting wierd feeling in my chest/lungs. It's a tightening-type feeling, but very uncomfortable and can make breathing a little harder, even though it usually just lasts a minute and occurs random times throughout the day. It almost feels like my heart is racing, but when I check the pulse it's a normal speed.
Does anyone else get a feeling like this? I used to get it a lot when I was younger (before ever smoking), but it seemed to stop around when I was 10 or 11. Now it seems everytime I smoke, days even weeks afterwords I start to get this feeling again.
Is this actually from the weed, or just in my head?eight Reviewed by eight on . Question Lately I've been getting wierd feeling in my chest/lungs. Question
Funny you made this thread, I've had the same exact problem for the last two weeks or so. I'm trying to run everyday (although it's more like a couple times a week) and it helps a lot. I guess any type of cardio would be beneficial since it's making your heart work harder. I'm also taking a break from smoking this week so my chest pains are almost completely gone. You should be fine, just try exercising, and perhaps smoking less frequently. But if it's really that bothersome, see a doctor.

Question
Pain is some sort of stress on body tissue, though it could be anything from intercostal muscle strain (muscles around ribs), to heart pain (angina), to pain originating from somewhere else (kidneys, for instance) that you just feel in your chest (refered pain). "Tightness" is a bit different. Usually a tightness in the chest is caused either by A) Constricted airway, reducing alveolar gas exchange; or B) Respiratory alkalosis, which can cause a tightness and sense of urgency (like you can't breathe). I would advise you to make sure you aren't hyperventilating when this occurs. Do this by deep breathing only once every 6 seconds (in for 3 seconds, out for 3 seconds) for at least 3 minutes. In this way you will maintain (or return to) normal pH, while still supplying yourself with enough O2. If you still get the feeling, it is probably not alkalosis (the least serious), and should be further investigated if it is causing discomfort.

Question
Sounds like what started happening to me before I stopped smoking cigs. Do you smoke darts at all, eight? All I can say is see a doctor A S A P if the symptoms persist. Exercise, in the meantime, is always good for the ticker. good luck man.

Question
if you are suffering with anxiety(which would be the good thing to have considering your symptoms) you'll need meds anyway,so swing by the doctor to check.Docs are cool and are indiscreet, and if you pickone that is aged between 45 and 50,notonly will he give u xtra vitamins, he also won't alert the cops.
Nb:the family doc is a no-no,even if he/she is a goofball. They tend to gossip during checkups.
peace
