Can't learn for two day? Truth or Myth?

I've heard from several people that after you smoke pot, you can't really learn anything new(i mean schoolwise) for two days. I am aware that it has affect on short term memory, but is this true or a weed myth? Thanks.

I would most definately say a myth. I go to a lot of my classes ripped and I learn a lot, especially the classes for my major. I smoke all the time and I have one of the highest GPAs for my major, so I say that that is a myth completely. I have read a lot of reasearch articles lately, and most say that the short term memory loss is present (not sure in what extent), but is completely reversible once the use has stopped.

It depends on the person i think. Some people just cant concentrate stoned. But i really dont think your brain stops recieving new material everytime you smoke. If that was true i wouldnt know. . . wait. . .what day is it?

Yes iz rite, it vairez dependin on the person. me, im like RNF, i go ta most classez blazed an i can still concentrate an learn an remember the shit. math iz impossible sumtimez fer me when high, but then other timez the weed helpz me cuz i get thru all the math rite quickly. anythin besidez math iz easier fer me when im high. but thne again, i kno ppl who cant learn er remember a goddamn thing frum class. i like bein high in classez where yer juss sitiin there listnin 2 yer teacher an u get more interested in the shit so u actually wanna learn an explore the material instead ov sayin fuck it.

Yea, I could understand not remembering when you go to class high, but im talking like two days after you smoke. Your straight, but does it still affect your brain.

The research I have been reading lately says that the effects on the brain from smoking are completely reversible once the user stops. So even if smoking does cause litttle amounts of short term memory loss it is like nothing happened after you stop smoking.

phunk, i smoke alot but if i take a break, the first day that i remain sober i can already feel my brain workin a bit harder. i juss think that when yer blazed u get too lazy an relaxed ta try an use yer brain, u only use it if sumthin iz interesting 2 yah. if u give yer brain 2 dayz 2 clear out, u will b juss like new. but when u r high itz not like yer rite stupid er anythin yer juss a bit slower.

For those that may not know, the ACT is the standardized test most requested my the majority of colleges in the midwest. I took it high and got a 30, 97th percentile, pretty damn good. Sober, I got a 28, which is a pretty big difference. I decided to take it a third time, but be extremely blazed, you know, for science. I got a 33, the best score on record at my highschool. It's like I'm Popeye, only with brains instead of muscles and weed instead of spinach.

Anyway, back to the subjext. As far as I know, it's a myth. I've never seen any proof that it's true, i've never known anyone to see any proof that it's true, and my own personal experiences say it's not true.
