Court fees, the gov. collects a percentage of every fine paid for a bust. Pharm. companies that produce expensive perscrip. meds as well as over the counter meds pay the gov. big dollars each year to keep pot off the market because it would take away from their profits big time if pot became legal. Why would the government want company X to sell pot for 5 dollars a joint when they can sell a bottle of perscrip. pills for 480 dollars? Which sale is going to yield bigger tax dollars for the gov, do the math bro.

These are just a FEW examples. Use common sense, this country as well as the world is driven by money. If legalization meant more money coming in for the gov. it would have been done a long time ago.
