    Bonsai Bob...LST Heavy!

bob, I regularly grow according to your intentions there. I'll be interested in seeing you SOG develop. I just kicked my light down from 18/6 to 14/10 to get the fast growth going. I'll have a branch(read that "bud") growing vertically about every 2-3 inches over my entire growing surface in a week or so -- then I'll go to 12/12, yada yada.

GN -- Without getting into the possible genetic link to purple stems, can you tell me which is the more likely cause -- ph/nutrient or temp? I commonly have purple stems on my plants. It's never seemed to be anyting more than color, and this is the first I've heard that it's a bother. Am I missing a vital health clue here?
rodekyll Reviewed by rodekyll on . Bonsai Bob...LST Heavy! High! For those who've followed my grow's before.. you'll see pretty much the same kind of thing only .. more of it. I started 4 plants on New Year's, but sadly.. i got some weird deformed seeds and 1 male.. so i'm down to one.. but a Mother she is! So with less three plants I've decided to make this one plant into a beast of a plant, eventually attempting my cloning techniques again. So far so good. considering the plant is going on about 2 and a half months at 17/7..she's still vegging Rating: 5

brite & GN -- I have a real problem keeping temps up in my grow area. I try to run the lights at night and keep them off in the midday, but it's hard to do that, since the grow area is also my darkroom, and I have to have a dark period at night to roll film there. The day temps can get up to 85-88-ish (f) with the room sealed for co2. With the light off, it can get into the mid-low 40s. I get purple buds a lot with my winter crop, which I have always assumed was temperature range related, and which I assumed would be seen by the plant as a normal autumn temperature shift thing. But you're saying low temps at night can affect flowering? Is it the temperature range, or average that makes the difference? Is it significant?

    I REAAAAALLY disagree!

Purple stems is a temp problem, I've had purple stems at first, I got my temp in order and they were gone. It's not a big problem cause it comes along pretty fast, but when the temp change from day to night is too big I'll be a bitch getting them into bloom
