A Frenchman, an Englishman, a Texan, and a Mexican are flying in a plane.
The pilot explains to her passengers that the plane is too heavy and in
order to avoid an ugly crash, some weight needs to be removed from the
plane. After removing all the unnecessary items (baggage,etc.), the pilot
reports that the plane is still too heavy and yet more weight needs to be
removed. She then asks if any of the passengers would be brave enough to
give up their own lives to save the others. The Frenchman stands, raises
his glass,says "Viva la France!" and jumps out of the plane. This not being
enough, the Englishman stands up, raises his glass, says"Long live the
Queen!" and jumps out of the plane. Still this is not enough weight
removed so the Texan stands up, raises his glass, says "Remember the Alamo?"
and throws the Mexican out of the plane. :dance:

I did manage to get out to the Riverwalk. Went to the marketplace -- the mall -- located by the Mississippi at the junction of Poydras, Canal, and Julia Street. You can tell it's New Orleans, but if you've lived here for more than a decade you'll notice something's wrong.

That's twenty-five years to recover it to how it was before. At the moment it's live-able, but..

Out in St. Bernard Parish, East of New Orleans -- that's a different story. Sometime after Hurricane Katrina made land fall a couple 250,000-barrel storage tank were reportedly lifted off their foundations by floodwater and shifted several something feet. More than a million gallons of oil was released into the floodwater due to some of these storage tanks being breeched.

Some say it's going to leave a lot of land uninhabitable.

And still has yet to be cleaned up fully.

I don't live in LA but have been a few times since Katrina....I was amazed at the garbage still in NO's..has any of the debris been cleared? I know MS is still struggling..made me sad to see the Gulf Coast.

While most Mexican weed that comes through is probably not very good any more, Iâ??ll never forget when I first tasted some Michoacan that came around to NYC (I donâ??t want to date myself, but it's been a few decades for me, lol). That stuff was GREAT! The thing about good Mexican is that it makes you happy. You will not be depressed after a joint of good Mex. Itâ??s not exactly â??trippyâ?�, like a lot of the stuff we get today (when we're lucky), and youâ??ll need more than one or two tokes - but itâ??s satisfying enough to smoke any time.

If Mexico's legendary Acapulco Gold, and other primo varieties, ever make a comeback, itâ??ll be a great alternative, and/or addition, to the insane prices that weâ??re paying for the high-altitude domestic, North American, stuff. It also appeals more the average consumer - better price, no paranoia, etc.

Iâ??d love to get a bag of good â??ol Mexican, and I wish that it was easily available again. Hell, I wish that Thai Sticks, Columbian Gold and Red, Hash from Nepal and Tibet, Panama Red, and other vintage killer stuff were easily available here, also. Here's a New York Times pot article from Dec., 1933. Anybody here think that they'd have a "hard" time distinguishing the weed from alfalfa? :dance:

LONGMONT, Col., Nov. 30 -- With the arrest here of five Mexicans, a dope ring specializing in the intoxicating weed, marijuana, is believed to have been broken up. About $7,275 worth of the weed, which is called "hay" in the vernacular, was seized.
Marijuana sells for about $85 a pound or 5 cents for a single cigarette. It is highly intoxicating and constitutes an ever recurring problem where there are mexicans or Spanish-Americans of the lower classes. It is usually grown in the midst of other crops such as alfalfa and is thus hard to distinguish.

Thai cannabis falls into this 11:00 hour category, and its parthenocarpy is characterized by an inflorescence in which many floral bracts are attached to an elongated meristem. It is these elongated meristems that are harvested to become a THAI STICK.
