    As for timers, you can go to your Home Depot and buy some heavy duty timers... don't be cheap... don't be afraid to pay $... good stuff costs money.

    Get the HEAVY DUTY ones... Not the 3-pronged, white-for-the-family-room timer...

    NO GROWER!

    You need to get the ugliest one... the one in the metal box... the one that has levers and mechanisms around the clock... the one that, if you're not carefull, will give you a nice maaaaaad jolt of electricity... the one that has the highest AMP rating.

    And, don't connect your lamps, all to one timer!

    I would use ONE of those heavy duty timers for EACH of the 1000watters....

    And, one heavy duty one per pair of 400Watters...

    And two fans max per timer... a separate timer...

    There are very cool scientific formulas you can use to determine how much AMPs your stuff is pulling.

    ++++
    you're house's circuit breakers should be up-to-spec too... don't want no wires melting inside the walls... don't get scared... sorry.... get a smoke alarm... and fire extinguishers... for the kids.

    I hope this helps...

    BTW: How are you measuring the amps? Do you have a fancy voltmeter or something?
