ScrOG help please.

My first grow, and I attempted to ScrOG. Trying to borrow a digital camera to post photos soon.

I have seen some beautiful work from others on here, but I think my babies are too bushy, or not enough screen? I am having trouble training because there are more buds, leaves, etc coming through, or trying to come through. The buds are developing nicely, but there seems to be way to many leaves above the screen.

I am trying to train as much as I can, but it is getting very full, and I am only into the 3rd week of flowering. I am tucking the fan leaves under the neighboring hole, or tying them away from the buds so they get more light. I know most people say not to trim the fan leaves, but I think if I do not, I am going to have a problem with space.

I will post pics this weekend, and hopefully I can get some pointers.

Also, when ScrOGing... what about the buds below the screen? Just let them not get light and die? Or?

Interesting... I'm planning on doing a SCRoG... but haven't yet....

As to the buds under the screen, try to train them over the screen... if not possible, fuck it... I would think...

As to the fan leaves::: I've come to think, that you should tuck the fan leaves under the screen.... but, progesively, you remove the fan leaves under the screen... (<-- please wait for more input, as I'll feel really bad if my suggestion fuck-up your grow).

When you get your camera, definitely! PLease post pics...

Rule of thumb for planning on dropping into your 12/12 cycle is to flip your lights when 70%-80% of your screen is full. I do believe it is the first 21 days(??) of flowering that your plant will continue to stretch, which in this time you still train your branches underneath the screen. Always train under the screen and then let the bud sites grow through the opening until they have stretched enough to be moved to another hole if possible. I'm not sure however how training above and below the screen would effect the plant. But I have always read to train under the screen. Good luck with your grow. I am also doing a scrog this time around. What strain are you growing and how many plants?

Thanks for the link, I use your thread extensively for study purposes man... your SCRoGs are amazing!

As to safety, that's 1st man... if it isn't safe now, it doesn't make sense... in the future, looooong time future, when you're OK to grow, you'll hack it again... hopefully...
