Well you should be happy to know your completely right, and he is completely wrong. The number of fingers on each leaf varies on each strain, some 5, some 7, some 9 and even some pure sativas have 11. You cannot tell what so ever by looking at the leaves or the plant in gerenral. You need pre flowers. Keep doing it your way and it'll work!
