Highweed..
You can cover a 4x4 area with a 1000watt HPS very very well.
A great high yielding quick grow would be to grow 16 plants about 10-14 inches tall during vegging and then flower them...
this would have the potential for a great grow!!!
Now if you dont use the 1000watt bulb properly.. you might as well have a 400watt bulb...
MOST GROWERS DO NOT KNOW HOW TO... OR DONT USE A 1000WATT BULB TO ITS FULL POTENTIAL.. EVERY 12 INCHES.. THE BULB LOOSES HAVE OF ITS LUMES....LUMENS = GROWING POWER = BUD SIZE = BUD WEIGHT..
so you need the light to be as close as possible... if somebody tells you the light should be 10 icnhes away... A great grower will cool that light down so much that he can get it 5 inches away and he will yield 2+ ounces from every plant harvesting 2+ POUNDS using only one 1000 watt bulb!!!!!
AND NOW YOU KNOWM
if you accept this very moment...you will BE LOVE

Muchas gracias garden ... i love you lol. So i have 2 1000 hps . in a room that is 71' inches bye 83 inches . about the room? The ligths r about 35' inches away from the plants is that ok? another question what to feed and how to feed the plants after there's no more food in the soil.

how old are your plants...
35 inches is way to far away... You will double your yield if you can get that light 12 inches from your canopy....
DOUBLE!!!!!!!
IF i were flowering plants... i would get that 1000watt bulb within 5-10 inches of the canopy.. This will require an exhaust fan and/or an oscilating fan blowing on the plants... at a slight angle blowing up... thus blowing the hot air from the lamp up away from the canopy...
THE CLOSER THE LIGHT .....THE BIGGER THE BUDS!!!
THIS can not be emphasized enough...
: )
good luck.. I am excited to see PICTuRES
: )

I use 1 gallon containers. If growing inside remember that your plant will double in height from the time you turn clock back, to harvest. Make sure you leave room.
