Just small hits. If I'm going to cough, I usually feel it in the back of my throat and I stop the pull right there. I'll never forget when I had a coughing fit while pulling on a bong. Coughed...into the chamber...water soaked the herb and came out the stem. Very embarassing....but we still smoked that shit!
