root rot
Above 75F makes it very likely.
And poor oxygenation at any temp will do it.
Usually colder is better, though, with high 60sF probably ideal, I believe.
In practice, it's usually hard to get the water too cold. Not sure about what the exact low threshold would be.
But what does algae have to do with root rot?

Low temperatures lower dissolved (DO) oxygen levels and high temperatures will also cause DO to be low. So if you have algae growing that's your problem. This also comes from ic forum. Rating: 5
