Hmm... well, plants, they usually veg, depending on height-restrictions.

If the plant gets too tall in vegging, it will be huge in flowering.

So, it depends on your space.

Clones, I know clones are typically vegged for 3-4 weeks... some people veg for even longer 6-8 weeks.

Why? Well, during vegetative, the plant is growing the "factory floor" for producing buds... so, the bigger and the better the factory, the more buds it will be able to produce.

A clone vegged for 1 week, then put into 12/12 WILL flower and produce buds, but... how much?

As oppossed to a clone vegged for 6 weeks, then 12/12.

Am I helping in any way? Or just confusing the subject?

Best to you,

She is getting bigger, but still tiny, probably 6" across and 6" tall. There are already quite a few sets of leaves, but they are all very small. It's only using CFLs but there is a shit ton of them in there, and the entire cabinet is coated with shiney stuffs. I'll post pics at lunch. Rating: 5
