The sex of the plant is determined IN the seed. Seeds have something called 'RNA' which is like a plant version of DNA. How do you think feminised seeds come about? From a female plant that has been stressed, so it turns hermie - and the seeds produced will be female, but with feminised seeds they can turn hermie VERY easily.
I have had Lowryders kept in the same conditions - same size pots, watered at the same time, same brand of compost, same amount of perlite, same amount of nutes, same temperature and same humidity - and some have turned out male, some have turned out female. I think theres a 70% chance of getting a female, although in some rare cases people have bought a pack of 10 seeds and only got 1 female.
Just because theres a 50% chance of winning on a scratchcard doesnt mean that you WILL win if you buy two.
