Supervisors vote to regulate medical marijuana dispensaries in Los Angeles County

LOS ANGELES Los Angeles County Supervisors have voted to lift a ban on medical marijuana dispensaries.

The board voted 4-to-1 on Tuesday to regulate dispensaries in unincorporated areas. It was a decision hailed by marijuana advocates who gathered outside the Hall of Administration afterward and fired up joints.:thumbsup:

Dispensaries must obtain business licenses and conditional-use permits to operate in commercial, industrial and residential zones.

The dispensaries may not be within a thousand feet of schools, youth facilities, churches and parks, and must have signs, adequate lighting, a security system and guards.

Better yet instead of all the bullshit the Feds are giving the states who have legalized marijuana for medical purposes, how about we get our heads out of ours asses and legalize and regulate!! It would be a lot less hasseling and legalization will create less crime as it will take cannabis out of the hands of organized crime and into the hands of growers who actually know a thing or 2 about weed like Ed Rosenthal.

What is still sad to me is that these "medical providers" charge the same..if not more than the street prices for their cannabis. That is an outrage and it is apparent that these people are only out for the money and not compassion. Some of these providers have been linked to organized crime. We must legalize completely!!

It does not cost a lot to grow weed, as an experienced grower can use good seeds and thus use clones in the future. Sell ounces for like $70 to patients instead of $500!! Shit I would give them weed for free if they were suffering and desperatly needed this medicine.

Where marijuana is taxed the rate of usage signifigantly droped after the first few months of deciminalzation.

Nugs in my area go for $400 an ounce. If it were legal, I seriously believe the price would drop enough to cover the tax differential.:thumbsup:

I've watched the price of GOOD weed jump from $25 in the "70's" to what it is today.....funny how the price of coke has remained the same.
