That will work but if you can afford it try to find an air-cooled hood. It would save you heat and for most growers that is an issue.

Are you saying you can put a conversion bulb [MH] into an ordinary HPS ballast??

I thought it was the Ballast that needed to be the special conversion type .i.e..A Conversion ballast that can take either an MH or HPS bulb?

    ???

Please can someone clear this up for me coz it could be dangerous !

They make switchable ballast yes. They also make conversion bulbs so you can run a MH light in a HPS ballast. As well as the other way around. They have been on the market for years, it's nothing new.

Thats not a bad deal. I would go with a Hortilux bulb (430w or 400w hps) though, one bulb is all you need. Best of both worlds IMO.

    Wow!

That's good news....I'm thinking of having two rooms...each with interchangable [MH to HPS] lights....So I won't have to move the plants and thus ...won't have to disturb the roots too much and can veg for longer [ebb/flow you see]

Anyway that is news to me..thanks:thumbsup:
