What causes color change?
Well, whatever it is, it's not good.
Pine, wood shavings are not good to use, since it uses available nitrogen to decompose. Put pumice or perlite at bottom. I prefer pumice since it doesn't blow away. I put pumice at the bottom of all my containers with no holes.
You need to feed your plants. My preference would be organics. Liquid kelp or fish emulsion. I've seen great grows with just fish emulsion. The seedlings only have about two weeks of food stored in them.

What causes color change?
Hey friend,
First thing to do is give that lil sprout some good lighting
Get a good CFL (Compact Fluorescent) with color temp 5500K or 6500K (Anything in between is still good) and hang it over at 6" of the top of the plant, preferably with a reflector so you get more light back to your plant.
Try this and after 3 weeks from seeds start 1/2 diluted fert. and continu with that CFL and lower it to 4" as the plant is getting better and bigger.
Hope that helps!

What causes color change?
Hey mate!
The Color Temperature (in Kelvins) are usually written on the label of the CFLs (bulb specification)... If its not there then i wouldn't buy it because you are not sure whether the color temp is good or not. If not, your plant will have a slow growth and could also appear yellowish.
Remember: you need to lower your light gradually as they become bigger and mnore resistant to heat.
For example: you read on the label 5000K, it means the color temp of that/those bulb(s) are of 5000 Kelvins.
Vegetative phase (phase in which your plant grow) require Kelvin temperature between 5500K and 6500K.
Flowering phase require a bulb with a more red spectrum in the 2100K - 2500K (closest to 2100K if possible)
HPS (high pressure sodium) bulbs will do best for flowering!
Hope it he

What causes color change?
hey Mafia819 i have the package insert here in front of me and all i see on them are on each bulb:
Bulb #1
100Watt light output 23w=100w
light output (lumens) 1600
Energy used watts 23life (hours) 10,000
Warm white light not dimmable
Bulb #2
150Watt
42w=150w
light output (lumens) 2600
energy used 42
life (hours) 10,000
On both packages they show the lights that it can be used in too
I raised the light a little bit on the onats till they get maybe a litle bigger but how do i stop it from have brown spots on the leaves as in my pictures and do i have to add some type of food source like fish emulsion or what else can i use?
Thanks guys
