    What causes color change?

if they are yellowing it could be lack of nitrogen or overwatering.
    show pictures
its easier to understand what you need

stick your finger in the dirt up to your knuckle.
if you feel any wetness dont water.
and pick up your pots to see how heavy.

    What causes color change?

Since you are letting the soil dry out between waterings I'd say it was lack of nutrients. Specifically nitrogen.

    What causes color change?

I'm tryign to get some pics up but the camera doesn't seem to be working damnit
ok i got the soil from outside
the pot size is about 10inches across in a round circle
plants are about 3-4 inches tall
ages: the one is about 2 weeks now and the other a few days behind
    nutrients were never added
the pot/strain? not sure out of a baggy
holes are in the bottom of the container to allow drainage and air in
the holes on the bottom are about a mm round and about 10-15 holes
light is kept on 24 hours and is a cfl 150 watt 2600 lumen and a cfl 100 watt 1600 lumen
temp is about 70 which is what i keep the room at or 75
light cycle not sure really like i said i was keeping it on for about 16 hours and off the rest but then i read on here that some leave it on for 24 hours during veg so thats what i do now and shut it off maybe onece or twice every week

again i'm trying to get some pics up here so you guys can help better hope this littl ebit of info helps

    What causes color change?

most likly it is a three gallon pot.
easy to over water and hard to dry out.
watering with a garden sprayer is best to distribute water over the top keeping the bottom mostly dry.
Most three gallon pots have 1 inch diameter holes on the bottom, about 5
I leave 24 hour light for veg. and mothers
Outside soil is real dense and takes a while to dry. I would mix it with 80% peat moss.
pine chips on the bottom of the pot are good for getting air in.
get air to the bottom especially if you packed in the dirt, you can make tunnels with your finger.
