    Few Questions

First off I've been browsing for the answers I'm looking for but could't find them so im making a thread.

Ok I just started to grow, my first attempt. I have 1 plant about a week old. I had it on 12/12 but then read that 18/6 would be better. I have a CFL bulb on it and Im gonna try to just grow with 1 cfl bulb if its possible. I dont have money or resources at the moment so I'm just winging it.

I was wondering Why do I need to know if its male or female? Also, when I figure out which it is, What do i do if its male or female? I've read that I destroy the Male, I have yet to find a reason for this. Are males like unsmokeable or something like that?

And correct me if I'm wrong but I think I'll be doing 18/6 for another 2 weeks, till 3 sets of leaves are out. Then, to 12/12 to start flowering. Im not too sure but I'm learning.

Another Question, When Do you think I will be able to tell what strain it is. ( I obviously will not beable to tell, but i figure ill get a pic up to see what You guys think )

Will this 1 plant have a strong odor as it moves along in its growth?

Thanks for helping me out. Sorry If this has been asked before or w/e.
Heres a PIc of my plant so far. Can some1 give me an estimate on How old it is? there is a small set of leaves growing in you cant see since it is quite blurry.

    Few Questions

Double post woops but anyway, I wasnt uptodate on nutrients and what not, So me being a dumbass thought it was a good idea so i snagged half a teaspoon of mircale grow and added water and put in my soil. After i read that it was bad I got worrried.

On the pic ( refer to post above) there is a hint of brown on a leave tip. Would this be from over nutrition?

btw Everyday when I come home from school and see a difference I get excited about this. This is pretty sweet stuff. I dont really think i would have this reaction if i was like growing magnolias or something like that.

Males dont form buds. You can also get the pollen around the house and have seedy buds.

Usually it is a couple weeks before you can tell the sex

Remeber to let the soil dry out between waterings.

Get that bulb real close. A 25 watt clf can be a inch away but I would go 6 if real young.

Peat moss in with the soil in the future is great. Like eighty percent peat.

Promix is good as is farfred and you buy it by the bail or three point one cubic feet I believe.

Depending on the ferts you use and the genetic the smell strength will be determined. Ozium is a great cover.

Most people like to sex it then make a mother out of it to take clones off of.

Mothers dont smell that much. You could have 100 of them and your windows open and no one would be the wiser.

It is not good to fert that young and can burn the foliage. Best thing is go to home depot and they sell alaska 5 1 1 which is all organic. You should flush the soil out if you put all that mg in it.

If you got a one gallon pot run three gallons water through it. Get good drainage holes and put your finger in it to make a tunnel so she drys out in a timely manner

    Few Questions

I start clones under an 18w flourescent light. They will stay alive and develop roots, but growth is extremely slow. 25w of light isn't a lot more -- I wouldn't expect a lot of growth. As such, you need to water less and fertilize rarely. I keep my babies under the 18w light until they actually touch it (8" plants). If I started with 3-inch clones this could take a month or more. When I repot them in 12" pots and put them under the 250w MH at 18/6, they double in size in a week, and go gangbusters from there. I often have to cut them back for lack of space in my clone room (read that "the space next to the toilet"). I move them under the 400w MH in the grow room as soon as the previous crop is done and I've disinfected the room. So I'd recommend getting something better in there than your single light, even if it means putting out a few $$ to purchase it. The return in your first crop will be worth it.

A tiny bit of necrosis at the tips of fan leaves is not unusual. It doesn't seem to bother the plants. It seems to be nutrition-based rather than heat-based, but I've not studied on it. A friend has suggested that it's due to moisture build-up on the edges of the leaves that act as lenses and focus the light too severely at the edges and tips of the leaves. Local "hot spotting" as it were. With your other growing issues, I'd leave this detail for later.

    Few Questions

Ive just got another CFL on it, 1 is about 4 inch away and the other is about 2 away. Would 2 CFL lights on this plant put it through flowering and veg stage?

Also, When and If THis plant is male, What do i do with it? just destroy it? save it for some reason?
