Plants 'breathe' in and out differently in the daytime from the night-time. During the day and night plants respire, as we do. That's breathing in oxygen and breathing out carbon dioxide.

However, during the daytime, plants also photosynthesize. That's using the Sun's energy to convert carbon dioxide and water into carbohydrates for energy to survive and grow. When doing this, they breathe in carbon dioxide and breathe out oxygen. At night, of course, the sun isn't out, so photosynthesis ceases.

23/1 : )

18/6 is NOT the best in my Opinion... NOT THE BEST..

In the summer there are many plants that grow great in natural long day conditions.. 20+ hours

Garden Knowm Reviewed by Garden Knowm on . A couple of questions about flowering/vegging... Hey all, Ive now built up the courage to try something a little more advanced than Lowryders... and no, not a Lowryder cross! Although I may try that when the crosses become a little more stabilised. Anyway, I digress. I know that you have to veg for several weeks on 18/6 before switching to 12/12 to flower, but I really want to grow a sativa - preferably pure like a Durban Poison, but a hybrid will probably have to do for now. So, for the sake of argument a Durban Poison gets put in veg Rating: 5
