I'll keep it simple:

When you are psychologically addicted to something, you will keep thinking about the substance and say things like, "God, I wish I had some _____ right now," or "It would be a lot of fun to get high about now." Marijuana is highly enjoyable, so its pretty natural to love to do it, and to want to smoke it every day is pretty common. I, for one, find it pretty tough to limit myself to once or twice a week (but I manage).

Physical (Chemical) addiction has to do with the chemical makeup of a substance. When a person is physically addicted, they will face an imbalance of something in their body (usually neurotransmitters like seratonin/dopamine/etc) when they stop using the drug. This phase is known as withdrawal. It's usually quite unpleasant.

Marijuana is NOT physically addicting, but for many it can be highly mentally (psychologically) addicting.

I hope that helps.
