The distinction should be made between physical addiction and psychological addiction. Psychological addiction simply means that we like to repeat enjoyable experiences - nothing more, nothing less. To me, marijuana (the physical substance) itself is not what creates the desire to repeat using it. I believe it is the state of consciousness which it propells one into (which can be very enjoyable depending on your individual temperament) that causes one to desire to repeat the experience.
