Hitler came to power in 1933 (if memory serves me correctly) and it took him only a few years (less than 6 as with bush now) to completly turn the country ass-backwards. he has 2 more years left. the german people were 100000 times more nationalistic and easily manipulated. they CHOSE to become a fascist regime, they loved it. look at how divided this country is, more so than ever before. its sad but better than your options, in that there will be no issue that will get this country to fully agree on in two years. you simply have no arguement GS.

Well, I think they were mroe nationalistic because of their defeat in WWI and the Versailles Treaty really fucked them over, so they felt the need to become a strong power again, and with the then-government not doing anything to that effect, they were ripe for a dictator to come in and take over. But i hear where your comin from. the divide here is too great to gap, i for one am horrendously un-patriotic at times, and i know about 60% of the population is with me on that.

We already have concentration camps!! Its called Guantanamo Bay and Abu Ghraib where dissidents are being held by military personell.

Remember that the German citizens did not know they were killing the Jews in their camps until AFTER the war!!!

I am sure there is much more going on in those camps then is being reported. It's just so depressing seeing these fucken macho military people with German shepherds intimidating these "prisoners". Very Nazi like. We will have to stand up to this tyrrany sooner or later!

A concentration camp is different than a death camp. Gas champers and furnaces marked death camps, a concentration camp's purpose is to imprison. So yeah, you could make a good case for Guantanamo Bay being a concentration camp, but they are still treated much better there than the Jews were originally treated in concentration camp.

Imagine living in the year 2002 and people, especially Amerikans are afraid of Muslims. This time we may be able stop it! The Germans' downfall was that they never stood up to Hitler and never questioned the official Reichstag fire story as I am now questioning the 9/11 story!! Perhaps if they did, WW2 may have been prevented. You never know. Could have been prevented in another timeline. History is repeating again folks. Apprently we didn't learn from it before.

But remember that the "good" German citizens never knew about the camps and the camps did not start out as death camps..they evolved to be death camps. How do we know that the Amerikans aren't killing "terrorists" in Guantanamo Bay?

Hitler appeared to German patriotism, Bush appeals to American patriotism. So what? All politicians do, its an old and useful tactic. You are not under a totalitarian system, the Germans were.
