i got some salvia leaves today from a headshop in new york. none of the stores have the xtract and only one had the leaves. I heard your supposed to smoke salvia in a pipe but we didnt have one and to broke to get one so we rolled up a fat ass blunt off it and noone felt shit. so does anyone know if u can get a decent high off of the leaves or do you have to get the xtract?

This pissed me off as well, although I got 2 oz for 15 bucks, which aint bad. If you have 20 grams or so, you can make your own extract with acetone (nail polish remover) fairly easily (check erowid). Even then, I wouldn't recommend burning in papers. S. divinorum needs to get very hot to release Salvinorin (the psychoactive), so unless you hold a torch to the joint while you toke, its pointless. If you have a pipe or bong (you can make one easily), you *might* get something off dry leaf, but no promises.

it takes a lot for a buzz with leaves. when i tried it with leaves i rolled up one as fat as the fattest j ever and smoked nearly the entire thing in one sitting and got the buzz the extract gave...but neither one was particular pleasent and the extract's been lost over the years but still have the oz. minus one fat joint sitting in a box...
try rolling up a phattie and do it alone. it's not really something that's fun to do with others around anyway.

lol thats a bit like saying just smoke weed and forget every other drug...which might not be entirly bad advise....but not good if your planning to experiment..

There is a method where you chew the leaves and apparently you can do this with leaves and not extract....you might have to searc.....here is the guide....

there is a guide for dosage on erowid....but remember its better to be safe than sorry so start with a low dosage!
