The easiest in a pinch in my opinion is to just skin up (all you need is green and paper); but it is terribly inefficient. I am on a limited budget (funds diverted to things like lights, fans, nutes, seeds and such ;)), but I am tired of losing so much product in paper so I want to invest in something more economical. If I could find a nice bong for a decent price, I might go that way; but there is hardly any portability there. I've Rating: 5

The most effective way, IMO, would be a bong, but I'd rather smoke a blunt than anything.

Thanks for all the input! I think I've decided to make a compromise; a nice bubbler or smaller bong for when stealth is not an issue, and a pipe for travel (as opposed to the limit of a single device). Does anyone recommend any specific pipes? I was looking at grasscity and found something called the Monkey Pipe (Twister Pipe). It looks pretty groovy, but I'd like to know if anyone has any experience / opinions about it. I like the fact it is so compact and you have a packed bowl ready to go just by flipping the thing open. Because it is wood and metal though, I'm wondering if it would overheat?

I know what you mean. I like joints, but you gotta roll em when you're messed, unless you do it before hand, which I'm too lazy to do. But I can't carry around a bong everywhere I got, but I have long hair so I can't use a 3 inch pipe. So I got a 4 in pipe that extends to 8 inches!

Dude, That is exactly what I was describing. I have a two knuckle one and a three knuckle one. I generally prefer the three knuckle one because the stem is a bit longer and it folds down just a hair smaller. The brass and wood cool the smoke and mellow it out. It smoke better than a lot of pipes I have tried. It travels great. Got one packed in my pocket right now.

As far as overheating, it can get hot when you get to the end of the bowl. Cooking the resin out can get rather heated. In normal use, I don't have any heat troubles.

Main drawback is that it clogs up quickly. After smoking about 1/8th through it, I can hardly draw it anymore. Cleaning the bowl chamber is a breeze. The knuckle joint and the top half are quite a bit harder. After about an oz through it, I scrape what I can then soak the whole thing in alcohol. This cleans it up nicely.

Enjoy it. I sure enjoy mine. Just to show you how well it works, I'll take a hit now... <flip><light><inhale><close><hold><exhale> Ahhhh.... now, wasn't that nice?
