SCROG GROW. What do i want to do

I am doing a single plant in a 4 gal pot right now under a 250 HPS. Doing the SCRog method, plant was 4 weeks from seed on Friday, will be 4 weeks above the soil on Wednesday. The intermediate growth is now starting to really grow, but the tops are still not close enough to the screen for me to train. Screen is about 8 inches from the base of the plant, about 2-1/2 inches from the tops of the stems. All the growth is pretty much to the leaves and not the stems and seems to bet getting nicely bushy; i topped it last week. the top of the plant is 22 inches from the bottom of the light, i placed it that far a few days ago to get that intermediate growth to stretch so i can train it into the screen. My question: should I have it that far in hopes of those stems stretching and growing to the screen, or should i have it closer to the light right now so that they get more light and grow more? See what im saying? Keep in mind, once they are trained into the screen i will be movin the plant right up to anywhere from 12-18 inches from the light. Hey Dr....

You know, I'm no professional, but...
I see where you're going... you have the light away, so they stretch... hmmmm... I would think this is fine.

Can you post pics as your grow comes along? I'm planning on doing a SCRoG... if I ever get around to it...

Just give it time. The streching idea will work, but you can never force a plant to grow, it will grow in its own time.

sorry but no pics, im trying to keep a low profile; overgrow got busted and you never know what can happen to this site. just looking out for myself. Thanks for the feedback though, i appreciate it

A single plant is not a SCROG grow by definition. It's a single plant under a screen and unless you crop there is no point. You would do better growing it out as a cropped plant if height is an issue. Then again a 250w light will only give off good light for about 12-14". If you cropped it then you don't need to train it just tuck the fan leafs out of the way and you would get a better yield for your efforts.
